International moving destinations from Toronto: worldwide, door to door

Anywhere with a port and an IAM partner agent, which is nearly everywhere. Every lane we run most has its own guide below: the ocean or road transit, the port your container lands at, the customs relief that keeps duty off your household goods, the cities we deliver to, and a realistic door-to-door timeline.

Europe & the UK

Moving from Toronto to Europe and the UK

The shortest ocean crossings we run. Containers rail from the GTA to Montreal or Halifax and sail direct to Southampton, Liverpool, Le Havre, Rotterdam, Antwerp and Hamburg in nine to eighteen days; the Mediterranean ports add a week or two, often via a hub. Used household goods enter the UK under HMRC's ToR1 relief and the EU under transfer-of-residence relief, so a correctly filed move pays no duty or VAT. Delivery runs from a London flat with a parking suspension to a farmhouse in the Algarve, through IAM partner agents in every country.

Australia & New Zealand

Moving from Toronto to Australia and New Zealand

Our longest lanes, and the ones with the strictest border. Containers rail west to Vancouver, then sail four to six weeks to Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Fremantle, Auckland or Tauranga. Both countries let residents import used household goods free of duty and GST, and both inspect for biosecurity: outdoor gear, wooden furniture, footwear and vacuum cleaners must be clean before they are packed, which our crews check on packing day.

Türkiye & the Middle East

Moving from Toronto to Türkiye and the Middle East

Israel is one of our two busiest private lanes, and lift vans marked for Ashdod are a routine sight on our warehouse floor; Beirut, Dubai, Doha, Jeddah and Istanbul follow, and Damascus is reached through Latakia or overland from Beirut. Everything sails from Montreal or Halifax, usually through a Mediterranean hub, in three to six weeks. Customs here turns on your status: olim and returning residents, residence-visa holders, iqama holders and returning Lebanese and Syrians with a consular certificate clear used household goods duty-free, so the shipment is timed to land after the paperwork is issued.

USA & Latin America

Moving from Toronto to the USA and Latin America

The United States is the one destination with no ocean at all: a dedicated trailer or a consolidated load crosses at Fort Erie or Windsor, and used household goods enter duty-free on CBP Form 3299. Latin America sails from Montreal or Halifax to Cartagena, Colón, Puerto Limón, Santos and Buenos Aires in two to six weeks, into customs regimes where a resident visa, a pensionado status or a returning-citizen concession decides what is taxed.

How your container leaves Canada

Three gateways, one warehouse

Whatever the destination, the move starts the same way: packed at your home, loaded at our North York warehouse, drayed on our own truck to the CPKC Vaughan or CN Brampton rail terminal. From there the route depends on which coast the destination is closest to, or whether it needs a coast at all.

  • Atlantic: Montreal & Halifax

CPKC Vaughan or CN Brampton → rail to the St. Lawrence or Halifax → ocean

Europe, the UK, the Mediterranean, the Middle East, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Africa and South America's east coast. Rail from the GTA takes one to four days; the container is on the water within a week of leaving our dock.

Most of: Europe & the UK · Türkiye & the Middle East · India, South Asia & the Far East

  • Pacific: Vancouver & Prince Rupert

CPKC Vaughan or CN Brampton → rail west to the coast → ocean

Australia, New Zealand, Japan, the Philippines, Singapore, Hong Kong and Korea. The rail leg is five to seven days, then a direct sailing across the Pacific. Vancouver is also our gateway for Latin America's Pacific coast when the schedule suits.

Most of: Australia & New Zealand

  • Road: Fort Erie & Windsor

Our dock → dedicated or consolidated trailer → CBP entry at the bridge

The United States, door to door with no port and no ocean. The Northeast and Midwest are one to three days away; Florida, Texas, Arizona and California five to ten. Most households go in a dedicated trailer; smaller moves share one.

Most of: USA & Latin America

Fastest door to door

The USA by road, 1–3 weeks in a dedicated trailer. By sea, the UK at 4–7 weeks, then Ireland, France and Germany at 5–8.

Cross-border moves to the USA

Longest lanes

New Zealand at 10–14 weeks and Australia at 8–12, both from Vancouver, both with a biosecurity inspection on arrival.

Moving to Australia

Our busiest private lanes

India, Israel and the UK carry most of the households we move; the UAE, the USA and France follow.

City by city

The routes we run most, city to city

Most people plan a move around a city, not a country. The six flagship guides break the lane down by destination city: the port it lands at, the time at sea or on the road, and what delivery looks like at that address.

Rooms and items in, volume out, and a coordinator prices the destination you picked.

What it costs

Prices by home size and destination

Typical 2026 door-to-door ranges from Toronto for a few items, a one-bedroom, a two- or three-bedroom home and a large house, to the UK, Europe, the USA, India, the Gulf and Australia, with the nine lines every quote is built from.

FAQ

International moving destinations: frequently asked questions

Which countries do you move to from Canada?
We run door-to-door moves from Toronto and the GTA worldwide. The guides on this page cover the lanes we run most: the UK and Ireland, every EU country, Australia and New Zealand, the United States, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, the Philippines and Japan, Israel, Lebanon, Syria, Türkiye, the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar, and Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Brazil and Argentina. Beyond those we move families to South Africa, Netherlands, Poland, Greece, Singapore & Hong Kong, South Korea and anywhere else with a port and an IAM partner agent, which is nearly everywhere.
Do you move to countries that are not on this page?
Yes. The guides cover the lanes we run most, not the limit of where we go. A move to Kenya, Vietnam, Mexico or Norway runs on the same model: packed by our crew in the GTA, loaded at our North York warehouse, shipped with the major steamship lines and cleared and delivered by an IAM member agent in that country. Ask for a quote and your coordinator confirms the agent, the port and the customs rule before pricing.
Which international destination is the fastest from Toronto?
The United States, by road: one to three weeks door to door in a dedicated trailer, with no port and no ocean. By sea, the UK is fastest at 4–7 weeks for a dedicated container, followed by Ireland, France and Germany at 5–8 weeks. New Zealand is the longest lane at 10–14 weeks.
Which destinations are the cheapest to move to?
The UK, Ireland and Northern Europe have the shortest crossings and the lowest ocean freight, so a given volume costs least there; the United States is cheapest for small moves to the Northeast. Australia and New Zealand sit at the top because of the Pacific crossing and biosecurity inspection. The price table on our international moving costs page shows the ranges by home size and region.
How do I know whether I qualify for duty-free import at my destination?
Each guide explains the relief for that country: ToR1 in the UK, transfer-of-residence relief in the EU, Unaccompanied Personal Effects in Australia, Transfer of Residence in India, CBP Form 3299 in the USA, residence-visa clearance in the Gulf. The usual conditions are that you have lived abroad for a year or more, owned and used the goods for six months, and are moving your normal home. We give you the document list at the survey and the destination agent files the entry.
Which Canadian port will my container sail from?
Montreal or Halifax for Europe, the UK, the Mediterranean, the Middle East, India and South America's east coast; Vancouver or Prince Rupert for Australia, New Zealand, Japan, the Philippines and East Asia. Every container leaves our North York warehouse on our own truck to the CPKC Vaughan or CN Brampton rail terminal and goes to the coast by rail; moves to the USA cross by road at Fort Erie or Windsor.
Do you move households from one country back to Canada?
Yes. The same partner agents pack and load at origin, we book the ocean freight, and our own trucks and crew clear, collect and deliver in the GTA. Containers from Dubai, London and Mumbai arrive at our yard every month; the return move is quoted the same way, door to door.
Do you move within Canada or to other provinces?
Our moves start in the GTA and Southern Ontario and go abroad. For a long-distance move inside Canada we will recommend a partner rather than send a truck across the country; for a move starting in another province to an overseas destination, ask and we will tell you whether a partner or a pickup to our warehouse is the better route.
